Submerged
Ice cold claws grip me as cold as sleet
Ripping and tearing as well as washing clean
It’s a mischievous monster whipping me around
Keeping me calm with the lack of sound
Lungs long lucid of lack of use
Ashamed buy their long, relentless abuse
My hair now octopus tentacles dancing about
Reaching for things, but their luck is out
The gray and black that clouds my eyes
Safe guards me from some frightening sights
Deep under in a place I’ll never bear to live
But for a moment of peace, I guess I can forgive
