If Our Love Was an Ocean
Our love is written in the waves
As they splash upon the shore;
Shaping a much deeper picture,
An illusion painting lust so unsure
The water ripples with hidden meaning,
Sending the answer wherever it reaches
Engulfing the shores with its complexity
Swirled In the sands white beaches
In all the pain that travels with the waves,
There will never be an end to our woeful song.
With the water still churning uncontrollably,
Dark blue waves restless under our prolong.
I can see the rough shores that fill with grief,
And the seaside caves that drain in hopes to forget.
And Though the warm tide rolls in with the evening,
I still wait for the night when all it brings is quiet.
The sunset turns to midnight, surely,
Then the sun reigns the skies once again.
Shining brightly, deep inside;
Waves still turning with our loves trend.
As the night closes, and the sky morphs to gray,
I still see you when I wake.
Just a memory; a mere vision;
Still rippling in the midst we make.
