Alone In The Corner
Little blind girl in the corner at home
Someone cries "Fire!" and I'm left alone
On the night I could have shown bravery
In the corner all alone you left me
I could smell something strange and I yelled for you
You never came to help and I felt something new
I felt my skin scorching, my mouth filled with grit
I fell down on the floor in a fit
My clothes burned off and I screamed once more
Why did you never come to the door?
That night when you came to find the remains
I was in heaven as it started to rain
On the night I was killed in my home
During a fire, sad and alone
You could have saved me, I know
Why did you not come when I yelled so?
If the time comes again when you run from me
I'll remember that at least I had the courage to scream
I could have grown up to be somebody great
If it weren't for that unlucky twist of fate
If only you had run through to see
If anyone was alive, you could have saved me
