The Tanning Booth
My mother was pale and pasty,
Until she heard the news,
Our town opened a tanning booth,
Something she would abuse.
She went tanning everyday,
Though she knew it was bad,
It was becoming her new love,
Enough, I knew I’d had.
When she came through the door, I said
And have lost too much weight”.
“Mother you smell like toast”,
Very soon you’ll start burning up,
But that just made her boast.
“Mother you’re made out of wrinkles,
Soon you’ll enter the gate,
You have shrunken many inches,
That day she left to go tanning,
My tears I had to mop,ayn
For my biggest fear had come true,
My mom had shriveled up.
