that night
Last time our eyes met
Was many years ago
I guess my mom was always right
You reap what you sow
And what you did that night
Will always be in my heart
For what you did that night
Broke my fragile heart
I know you thought that
What you did was right
You tried to save us from the pain
But what you did that night
Made me go insane
When you left that night
Leaving your family in the rearview mirror
Making us disappear from your sight
But you were never forgotten
Because your grandchildren still loved you that night
So much we thought we hit rock bottom
But now we have passed that fateful night
We all have grown since you went away
Always holding that memory tight
Learning that no one is here to stay
Never will we put you out of sight
Even though I never got to know you
Before you died that fatal night
