The Debt That All Men Pay
The moonlight illuminates the path before me,
leaves whistle pass fallen from a dead tree.
My shoes crunch on the pebbles beneath,
as I slowly approach an unadulterated heath.
My black hair shines in a way unknown to mortals,
my eyes shimmering like untouched portals.
I am what you fear and I am what you love,
As corrupt as a demon yet as pure as a dove.
I come for your soul to devour as you sleep,
I am here to watch you sorrow and weep.
You will never escape my grasp,
my music to hear you gasp.
I am the debt that all men pay,
and sorry to let you know that I am here to stay.
