Beautiful Boy
Twas Christmas day
He was coming and they did not say
I knew visitors there was to be
But this beautiful boy, I did not see
To any other eye,
He would most likely come up shy
But to me,
This boy and I were meant to be.
He has a heart like a throttle
But handles his problems with a bottle
His smile, radiant as the sun,
Warms my heart and makes it run
He is unlike any other boy
Just my presence brings him joy
There is not a fight for his attention
He cares for me with great affection
A minute it has been
Since butterfly’s rattled this heart of tin
Because he is gone now, back to his hometown
And I wish nothing but to frown
Tonight my thoughts I must collect
And realize that this boy is truly my perfect.
