Picture Perfect
I'll do what I can to make you happy.
Good grades, stay out of trouble, everything.
Anything you ask, to stop the yelling.
Your screaming voice is all I hear lately.
Whatever I do, it's never enough.
It's always something after the other.
No 'Good job's, only 'You can try harder.'
But I'll hold back my tears, try to be tough.
Now you are furious when I'm not there,
Yet, complain when I'm always in your way.
The more you yell, the more my dreams decay.
It's no longer a dream, just a nightmare.
Never will I be the daughter you want.
Encouraging words, all I ask to hear.
I wish losing me was something you fear.
All your words, will only forever haunt.
A simple smile and those one three words.
An 'I love you' is a thing of the past.
In this family, I'm only the outcast.
Guess from here, I can only go upward.
