Feeling like Yearning with Manhattan
If Manhattan were to sing,
I’d have to be the weak one.
For when he’d dance and when he’d smile,
For everything I’d break-run.
Here in the far away and thou
The men will lie in the stream.
Hope they may not be swallowed up.
The Jungle and its angles gleam.
If we were to take Manhattan on the town,
I’d have to walk beside him,
Or take by his shoulder at the rear,
Or resolve his surrounding hide dim.
Verbose, the Lady Talk-Of-The-Town,
Sit back, but do not reel;
Vined woman is she, the elongated hound,
She hath known everyone down to kneel.
If they were to hang out with Manhattan,
I should only respect the show,
Really watch them as the flirt falls through the sky,
Really count on everyone to understand and know.
Ah, but chocolates flowing in a caramel drizzle!
Love and wink near always shine their best,
And passing, passing in the Walk-around Fort,
Lingering, running things back and forth in Union Square, the pricey tingle, and Love is at rest.
If we make out with Manhattan,
(I’m sure we will have made it)
Eavesdrop! Calm Eavesdrop! Ca-alm Eavesdrop!
Each to the sky’s light to raise it.
But pretty thing knelt down on the cushion,
My bride, thee hast not begun
Bemused again, are the outskirts, and your flimsy dress,
Minding men dunned in the morning, and the clouds dunned with the sun.
