That's How It Always Ends
Sometimes I fear our world could end,
So I try to soak in your affection again,
Washed in the deep sapphire midnight,
Hoping it will be sweet in hindsight.
Somewhere in my dreams, we’re on the roof,
Staring up at all of our shades of blue,
“You’re my best friend,”
I say, tracing the stars.
“That’s how it always ends,”
you say, linking them in the dark.
