The Flow of Life
Tree
A tree standing all alone
The only tree left in its zone
All the others chopped down
All because they wanted a new town
The tree now sits
Afraid of their dirty mitts
Scared of what they might do
If they find him too
The tree now lays
Sad and trapped in their maze
Of their buildings and cars
As the tree lays there collecting scars
People
We are making a new town
Only taking a few trees down
As we expand
We need more land
We take a few more trees
We will leave the rest he agrees
We need more wood
Only taking what we should
Leaving the rest
We decide is best
Now realizing we made a mistake
There is only one tree left to break
We must save the tree
We say with a guarantee
Animals
Our homes getting chopped down
As we watch them build their town
We go to live in the last tree
Sad and without glee
Less and less of us survive
As they continue to thrive
Now the people stare
At the only tree left in the air
They help our tree
It seems now they see
They plant seeds
Finally realizing our needs
More and more trees appear
We all dance and cheer
Our homes are growing
As life goes back to flowing
