Unexpected
The nights in India were cozy and long
The wind seemed to play its own song
The wind here is different
It has no sense of right or wrong
My English was weak
Some looked at me like I was a freak
I stuttered and I mumbled
What havoc could they wreak
Everyone looked different from me
My skin was all they could see
But others reached out
Like the branches of a tree
Now here I stand
With others reaching out their hand
It's better than I could have planned
It's better than I could have planned
