Merely Glass
I am merely glass,
My surface perfect and elegant.
You look straight through me.
I have disappeared.
Now it is as if I never was or am, I am simply insignificant.
But then your hand infects me.
What once you never saw must be maintained,
The imperfection and imprint of your hand needs to be cleansed.
Soon enough you realize that your touch cannot be wiped away,
I am scarred.
You see me now but only as a mistake that can’t be undone.
So instead of just making up for the past mistakes you runaway.
Then you move along to someone else,
To start over again.
