Looking Through
You are looking right at me,
but you only see through.
I'm not the person you thought you knew.
The real me you cannot see.
What's wrong with our society?
We still only see people's colors,
and nothing allures
us to their personality.
How can it be,
if we were to actually
let go of past things,
get rid of hate and all it brings
Would we really become a new breed,
without pain and greed?
Can we separate feelings we knew before,
erase them like foot prints on a shore?
You are looking right at me,
but you only see through.
I'm not the person you thought you knew.
The real me you cannot see.
