The Dark Carnival
The Master walks onto the stage
Head is bowed
Disshelved, white hair covers his face
He wears a dirty, ruffled, black suit
No one makes a sound
Waiting for The Master to speak
And at last he does!
"Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls!"
He has an inhuman voice...
He never lifts his head...
"Something wicked has come to your town... The Dark Carnival!"
His arms rise dramatically
His head, still bowed, moves sideways a little
The crowd is excited, waiting
“Tonight is the night you witness terrible delight, and the only night, for we appear in each town only once”
The Master slowly smiles beneath his hair, fiendishly
He slowly turns, then slowly walks towards the curtain
Back to the audience
His head slowly lifts; hair messily falls to his shoulders
A hand rises to the rope
“And tonight… we are happy to announce that you are joining us”
His head whips backs
Only to show a terrible sight
His eyes have been seemingly gouged out, now only black holes, blood dripping down his face
His black lips smile devilishly to reveal all of his white, jagged teeth, as if they were hastily sharpened
Gasps resound among the crowd, even a few small screams
“Welcome, my friends”
The Master says
“To your new home”
They are all suddenly terrified
Some try to flee
But it’s useless
“The Dark Carnival”
The curtain opens with a simple tug of His hand
And ghouls, monsters, and demons swarm towards the crowd
Dancing, singing, laughing
The terrified screams of the audience resound throughout the carnival, but are never heard
As one hundred souls are taken to a dark world
As on hundred souls join
The Dark Carnival
The Master smiles his devilish smile
Proud of his work
“Now... let us go, my darlings”
He said to the creatures
