Dancer of the Night
the shadows of the day,
are your audience.
the skeletons in the grave,
clap the loudest amongst
them all;
of your divine appearance.
twirling you are from tombstone to tombstone,
under the starlit spotlight.
your grace is held above all;
the night is young,
so let us dance an extravagant dance
of the night.
the souls around you, their
presence known.
there frost bitten hands take hold of you,
and pulls you to the icy
coffin beneath.
its been a hard, long night and you
must rest they say.
but you hold your head and trot
the frozen earth down
with your dancing feet.
you bite your tongue and laugh your heart.
as you are a dancer of
the night.
