Goodnight
I've sunk through the stars,
They smile as I play,
Comfort when I sulk,
Give succor at my need,
I love the stars, the moon, and sometimes seek the sun,
Warmth all around me.
People look up high and point,
Imagining a fly-away,
I wave back,
I sink in the stars,
Moon smiling my way,
I say wonderful,
Speak of wonderful memories,
To my stars, my moon,
And tell of when I've basked in the sun's light,
That warming light.
I remember when I used to cry to them,
Used to say when I got cold,
There was no blanket and I didn't want the sun,
I say I miss my home,
Get my suitcase and float off,
I say I'll wish upon them every night,
Icy tears fall from their eyes,
And one falls in my hand,
I hug the stars,
The moon,
And wave to the sun,
"My love is waiting for me," I say
Bye
Pale face shown of skies afar,
That soft cheek I kissed while she was still searching,
We listen to the stars at night,
And wish upon every one as bed-time approaches,
We make sure none feel forgotten,
And lay to sleep as the moon sings,
Goodnight...
