A Day
As raspberries rise in the east,
Sweet, fizzy bubbles fill the air.
Mint eyes open wide to the light
And prepare to survive the day.
As grapes slowly pass by,
Rolling steadily and crookedly,
Golden delicious hair thickly tangles;
Reacting to dissatisfaction and strife.
As strawberry seeds catch in teeth,
The breeze mellows and sweetens.
Rosemary fingers hang loose and lonely,
Missing the warmth preceding love.
As mangoes age and descend,
Noise strengthens and invades.
Coffee ears close tightly to ignore;
Listening instead to cirtus silence.
As peach pits emerge and juices drip,
Stains soak in, lazily spreading.
Soft cherry lips gently part
To breathe in the horrific colors.
As blueberries quietly burst,
Signaling the curtain is to be drawn,
Finally rest two pineapple feet;
Leaving any remnants for the morrow.
As one chilly pear lasts too long
And captures the few stubborn lights,
A watermelon back is laid reluctantly down;
Ordered to rest for unfitting reasons.
As ripe plums slow the air
With sensual meat and thick skin,
Mint eyes are deep in oblivion
Where rests a forgotten heart.
