Have You Seen The Light In My Eyes
Have you seen the light in my eyes,
And do you know that you’re the reason that my heart dies?
Various things have broken me down.
Ending this dreary life now- upon my lips, a frown.
You all thought that I was lame.
Only now do you realize that you’re all the same.
Unstable of mind, I scream as I slide a knife across my arm
Scars are forever, and so seems my cold life- not warm.
Every day, tears stream down my cheeks.
Even when I calm myself back down, the tears continue to leak.
Never before have I looked to the sky,
Thinking that Heaven will be better, that I want to die.
Heaven is real, I know it for sure.
Even the angels are not fully pure.
Let me explain to you about death.
It’s the time when you’re destined to take your last breath;
Goodbye is the word that people will cry;
Heaven will take you as you look to the sky,
Thinking that it wasn’t your time to die;
In reality, you know your fate,
Now everyone will realize their apologies came too late;
Maybe everyone was always against you;
You can trust me because I know it’s true.
Everyone thought that I was lame,
Yet nobody realizes they’re just the same.
Every day that I lived, everyone just tells others lies,
So let me ask you this: before I died, have you seen the light in my eyes?

I wrote this piece when I was thinking about how other people go through terrible things, and sometimes they're just pushed too hard and can't carry on anymore. Suicide is a real thing, and people need to know that it's really bad and things like bullying, as shown in the lines "And do you know that you're the reason that my heart dies," "You all thought that I was lame," and since the line "In reality, you know your fate," and down. People need to know how bad bullying can be, and I'm sick and tired of it being passed over like a windshield wiper would pass over a dead bug stuck on the window.
