Italian Harbor

As the warm sun rises up at midday,
Tiny white sails float carelessly around marinas of many
White pelicans flap around and search for luscious fish,
The water gleams a deep azure, reflecting the sparkling sunlight

Glorious smells of fresh fish and saltwater
Sifts through the air; teasing the nose
No dismay can occur on such a day as this
The sky so clear, the air so crisp, the mood so serene

Bright maroon houses sit at the edge of the glistening oasis,
Many boats tied to their harbor with rope; controlled against their will
Wanting to be liberated; to travel the waters forever
Not to be held captive by a large twine of thread
Ready to be snapped; And once broken, escapes across the horizon

Cruising lazily on the beautiful sea
The docks seem much further away now
Finally free, able to glide upon the soft blanket of turquoise
The open vastness lying ahead; a new life awaits

A picture influenced me to write this piece, a very seren looking harbor.

Well, that's a beautiful, and different perspective. I like it!
