Autumn Eyes

There is hope in the paper moon above us
In the satin grass, there is trust.
Love and peace I find
When your autumn eyes shine.

I see faith in the parchment leaves;
The wind sings that it believes.
I know what I see is real,
The love your autumn eyes feel.

There is patience in the thumb tack stars
We need be no more than what we are
You are all I need to live;
Love to your autumn eyes I give.

In the muscular oak I see constancy
The opal and silver moths are free
Love may cause fear
Still, your autumn eyes keep me here

The moon wanes, the grass dies
The leaves fall, the wind sighs,
The stars fade, the oak plummets
Away the moths fly

If our hope wanes and our trust dies,
If faith falls and believers sigh,
If our patience fades and constancy plummets,
If from us our freedom flies,
We will still have the love we share
That I can see in your autumn eyes.
