Sensory Confusion
I feel bright colors
Surrounding me in a veil
Are they shielding me?
Or are they trapping me?
I hear wood paneling
Rigid, standing by me
Is it imprisoning me?
Or sheltering me?
I smell melancholic violins
Faint and stirred by the breeze
Is it singing hope to me?
Or bringing me tears?
I see perfume in the air
Swirling in a spiral 'round me
Is it making me sweeter?
Or masking reality?
I taste clicks and taps
Like shoes on tile floors
Are they searching for me?
Or leaving me behind?
Sensory confusion
Makes my world like a dream,
Where the maze never ends, no center exists.
I feel what I should see
And smell what I should hear.
Perceptions malfunctioning;
Do you know what I mean?
