I Wish You Were Mine

Every version of myself I have ever
Created is longing for you to hold me,
But you are under starry skies in someone else's embrace.
And I wish I could be taller
So I could look straight into your eyes.
But those eyes are saved to stare at someone else.
And if given the chance, I would
Spend my days making you happy;
Yet no joke of mine will make you laugh the way I wish it could.
And I wish I could take us somewhere where
We can hide away, just you and I,
But I don't know how to ask you to run away with me.
