to my soft and subdued self
To my soft and subdued self—
To eyes flushed bright by inner Moon,
To lips lethargic, to idle tongue
As still, serene as summer Noon—
To my shadow-streaked sunset heart,
Where plunge my hopes to darker depths,
And yet the sunrise in my mind
Illumes the Night within my chest
To my moods which wax and wane,
To wispy thoughts that fog my brain,
To me—the Sun—the Incandescent:
You are the World; never forget it.
