Being in Clearwater
The nights seemed so long
that I cherished them in pure joy,
and spent evenings after the beach
in the city that seemed to be lightened
by a thousand street lights.
We roamed the boardwalk
where there was so much life.
The warmth of the wood
gently soothed my toes,
and the heat of the night
was comforting like a campfire.
The moon kindly shined down on the dark water,
creating a perfect glare.
The ocean waves
gently reached the shore,
creating a soothing sound
that made me feel calm and content.
The wind stayed with a soft breeze,
allowing my hair and clothing to lightly sway.
As we walked,
then sat, I saw
In my eyes, all the people-
Each subtle laugh and smile,
enjoying their surroundings
while being in the heart of this city.
I gazed at the dark blue sky
where the stars had slowly twinkled.
I whispered in awe: “I never want to leave.”
