Bury Me
Be my only star tonight
Under a black lightless sky
Remember the common pattern
You managed to escape.
Melted by your words
Evermore written on our pages.
Interwoven in your arms
Never returning to your love.
Make the world shift to bearable
You could turn the tables just like that.
Forget how often I am unkind
And sink me in my own sins
View me as I really am and then
Overdraw from the well
Rip my reputation from my body
Ingest in your own self pity
Tell the unbearable world a story
End my agony with goodbye.
Call on all that will listen
Old news and new things to burn
Light me on fire and then question
Of the reasons why I sent myself
Raring into my own casket
So lovely in my shades of orange.

This acrostic is about the never ending pangs of the relationship cycle. We meet, we fall in love, we fight, we end, we lose hope, we spurn each other. Inspiration? Angry ex boyfriend that wants to see me burn. This poem details the process of knowing a love that will cause you to destroy the person you once were. This is not a suicide poem, rather the death of the person you were with them.
