Romeo's Sonnet
You’ve stilled my heart, my beating, weary heart.
My eyes once open, now blinded by love,
Can never now see and never depart,
From you, my angel, who shines up above.
Thou fair songbird, come rest on my shoulder,
Come sing me your love song, your wings let soar.
Come Juliet, your love makes me bolder;
Intoxicating presence, none ignore.
Here is fate, resting beneath your towers,
Whose eyes see only the hearts pure longing,
For an escape from noblest powers,
And be with one who sets her heart thronging.
‘Tis good, be faithful to your souls savior,
Come Juliet, come bid me good favor.
