Meet Me February Thirtieth
I won’t say leave me alone
And not ‘please don’t call my phone’
I won’t give you the rejection hotline number
And pass it off as my digits
The truth be told
I do not really like you
I have a boyfriend
I don’t want to make you blue
It would be mean
To saying it like that
It’d be very obscene
Not to mention heartless
You had the gut
To come up to me and ask
If I were busy
That’s not an easy task
I felt a drop in my stomach
A very big guilt
I didn’t want to tell you
That I wasn’t single
At the very same time
No way could I say
Sure to your proposal
Of going on a date
So I decide
To look you in the eye
Baby, no offense, but you seem quite gullible
So I’m just gonna say this
Hopefully it’ll be enough so I can get away
Out of this awkwardness
I smile shyly
I take a deep breath
Finally I speak
Meet me on February thirtieth
And please don’t be late
I grab my friends
And then run off real quick
I have to get away
Before you realize
That’s not a real day
