Cupids Kiss
Oh Why! Oh Why!
Dear Cupid please answer why?
From his tempting, succulent lips,
To his mesmerizing, enchanting eyes.
He does have my heart and he keeps it,
ensnarled in his eternal grip.
I knew it was a Paradise Lost,
When I received his deadly gift.
That happens to come straight from his lips.
The poison fled right from his lips to mine,
making its way straight for my heart.
And then my heart did burst,
From the blow of the poison dart.
The passion and the pleasure,
The pain and the deceit.
was the result that came forth next,
since our forbidden souls did meet.
The elders tried to warn me,
And tried to end my sickly thirst,
But the lust I had for him,
Always came forth first.
The temptation and the hunger,
I had for this beast I have come to love,
Depicts the perfect ending,
such as for the lion and the dove.
You see,
The lion who was ghastly, evil and disturbed,
Had fallen in love with the dove,
Even though she was just a gentle bird.
He entranced, he tempted,
he pondered and he played,
until he got his wish,
Therefore, the lovely dove was swayed.
So blinded by her lust, her pleasure and her thirst,
The lion completed his plan,
And placed on her a curse.
When the clock struck midnight,
he led his blind love to her ending that was near,
He tore her limb from limb,
Without ever shedding a tear.
Just like my lover did to me,
In this twisted game called love.
I cast love deep down into hades,
Or into the dirt to meddle with slugs.
It was you cupid! You!
Who allowed me to fall this deep,
And so my beast, my lovely lion,
Got to devour me in my sleep.
And now I'm left to wonder,
WIll I ever be the same?
Since my heart is eternally broken,
Cupid I will forever,
Curse your name.
