I dream the dreams you dreamt
You dream the dreams I am dreaming
The dreams that make you look around when you wake
They’re the dreams you expect to forget
The dreams that are branded
on the back of your head
These are the dreams classified as part of an ill-humored elite

The dreams of a killing conflagration
The dreams of blatant humiliation
The dreams of a fallacy and fumbling folly
The dreams of a nearing fatality
The dreams of a crude reality
That nips at you callously

In your sleep

The ones that come in sequence
When you’ve just assumed you’ve met the finish

The dreams you dreamt
The dreams I dream
The dreams that seem
To have no end
