Remember Me?
Hello fellow comrade
Have you missed me?
Are you glad?
Or is there something missing in your heart
That's pained you pretty bad?
I've often come to wonder
Are you aching?
Are you hurt?
Does my absence every phase you
Or does it remain covert?
Do you ever miss the days
When we would laugh
And share our woes?
Do you miss us sharing stories
At our midnight rendezvous?
Have you ever longed for closure?
Second chances?
Explanation?
For a cliche happy ending
With a little less abrasion?
Because I often reminisce
About the giggles
And the whispers
In the darkness of the evening
With an orb of nightlight flicker
And I think a lot, my friend,
About the past
And of those times
But my comrade, I confess now
That I need to say goodbye
