A Stale Yellow Light
The sky's ink and the lights line thirty four
I didn't think she could watch them anymore
So when the night fades and the cars start to race
I see the light begin to show her whitened face
She's biting her nails and scratching her head
And instead of breaking hearts she wishes she was dead
She is drowning, burning and they're watching her well
Falling, breaking, fading
Only time will tell
She breathed like it was her first breath of fresh air
Until the world made her do every dare
And when she begged for just a single truth
They pushed her to her break and took all of her good
She sweats more than she should and hurts the right
She dances with her pressure and they give her just a night
And they push her, abuse her
Dim what in her was bright
Race before she burns out because
She's a stale yellow light
