Our House
We built a house from fallen trees,
We built our lies on unfulfilled pleas.
We painted a picture on what was said,
We painted our future in shades of red.
We spent our time on hopeless dreams,
We spent time believing nothings as it seems.
We filled our heads with thoughts of each other,
We filled in the gaps on the road to be lovers.
We created a mess, yet everyone just watched,
We created a storm yet only our house it touched.
We put our fate in the hands of each other,
We put hard earned money to bills we couldn't cover.
We danced on a floor we barely swept,
We danced with vows we barely kept.
We lived through summer bombarded with rain,
We lived on love, and how destructive it became.
