"Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them." - A.A. Milne

Silently, she screams
Fear has taken control
Her tears fall in streams
God, why did he have to get parole?

His fist fell heavily, like lead
Oh, so her bruises could attest.
Consciousness dangling by a thin thread
This was just a one-sided slugfest

She didn’t deserve this
His hate was deranged.
He tried to seal an apology in a kiss
Yet she pulled away, her opinion unchanged.

The tile now splattered with violence and red
Her wheezing breath was now suppressed
A wonderful numbness began to spread
All she wanted to do was rest.

The stress had taken its toll
Ah…there flew her dreams
Darkness engulfed her, black as coal
Death wasn't as satisfying as it seemed.

This was another piece where I thought of a scenario and wrote a poem for it - I guess I wanted to bring awareness to this kind of thing too because abusive relationships are too much to handle alone - and if you're ever in this kind of situation please for the love of god and yourself, ask for help.
