A quartz bird
Shimmers and bathes in the searing sunlight
Vivid pinks, endless opaque black, swirling milky white
Eyes gleaming
Mesmerising
I gaze closer
All of its beauty holds nothing
No life whatsoever
Just an empty crystal shell
A statue
I avert my gaze
