Vacant
“Vacant”
Hands once full
Now vacant
Matching the heart of a little girl’s soul
Turned dull
You would wipe away the tears
That dampened her face
You took away her fears
With you, she was safe
Not the patter of the rain
nor the rays of the sun
Could disguise her shattered soul in pain
Her legs didn’t even have the strength to let herself run
The birth of your new life
Was the death of hers
When you’re back she’ll be healed
It’ll just take time.
