The Puppy
The sound of your yelp
Echoed in my ears
For this decision I’d need help
The biggest choice of my short years
I inspected every last one
Then the right dog chose me
And my job was done
I held him for all to see
The puppy that was in my palm
His color a yellowish god
Through his inspection he was calm
Knowing he was about to be sold
He licked my hands,
Content in my grasp, protected from harms
The deal was settled and he met out demands
I carried him away in my arms.
