1st Birthday Party
The noisy rides and games
May leave some people queasy
But I ran around and played
For me, life felt so easy
We played until our parents
Warned us it was time to go
And we all jumped in the car
And headed back for home
I sat in my living room
On this clear night in fall
Surrounded by family and presents, hoping
I’d receive my new baby doll
Everyone watched my unwrap
With eyes wide, so they could see
As I opened gift after gift
And received my baby doll, finally!
