Looking Glass
Through a piece of glass I look.
I see a new world
nothing like the way it is now.
It seems un-real.
That is not what I see everyday.
There is war in this new world.
Violence and blood
are as frequent as sand on a beach.
I see a child
on the curb begging for food,
and a father
killing his wife and child.
In shock, I back away from the glass
only to see that
I am looking through a window.
