never thought it would be me

Wanting the new addiction more than the old one,
Wanting the new me in preference to the person I am now
When you look into my eyes you see nothing
They are dead
I never thought it would be me;
Who would be addicted!
It wasn’t supposed to affect me like other people
Now there is no such thing as sleeping
I need it and can’t sleep
Or have it and can’t sleep
I never thought it would be me.
