Two Worlds Collie In Me

i was born a southern girl
yet i yearn to be in the north
it doesn't make much sense to me
why the north fills my heart with glee
in the north the air is like salt and
the ground is water under my feet
it's flat with white sheets in winter
listening to the waves hum my name
it makes my heart beat with nervous flame
in the south the rain is so fresh
the smell of trees is in my chest
the leaves are a rainbow on the ground
some mountains are as blue as the sea
but this life is only half of me
two worlds collide in me
but which one am i to be
