The Volcano
To the naked eye
It appears to be dormant
To the naked eye
It seems to be alright
But those who study it
Know its habits
They know its tendencies
It sits on a hill
Filled with beautiful scenery
Yet, something is not right
Its poisoning lava just resting inside
Waiting for an eruption
The natives located near
Wait for it too,
They know its coming
Whenever the rain has been heavy,
The ground has been barren
The air has been cold and heavy
And the sunlight doesn’t last for too long
They know it’s coming
For the volcano is weary
For the volcano is sorrowful
For the volcano is heavy hearted , once again.
