The Day
Leaving long-lost prophet behind,
Darkened Judas fallout grind,
Lost messiah, left to find,
The day, she keeps it on.
Deadened nerves, and black tear gas,
Shattered hearts, all saved for last,
Bleeding spell, cut out for last,
The day, she moves right on.
Radioactive piercing glare,
Drowns out shell shock's spiteful stare,
Feel the crackled, burned, singed hair,
The day, she sings her song.
The long-dead poet, thrice forgotten,
Wore deceit like finest cotton,
Though his heart, to core was rotten.
The day, it ends along.
