Consolations After a Hectic Day

My books gather on the bookshelf
They are sharing their stories
Little whispers fill the air
I have antique paintings on my walls
Each a picture of a fae tale
Their windows into fantasies
Are calming enough
A golden tigress plays within one
A warm, mellow ray of sunshine
And I can smell the cookies baking
Alone in my fantasy world.
