I Am From
I am from oats and grain,
From the stinky smell of mucking stalls.
To the freedom of running, I am the beat of horse's hooves,
And their neigh when hungry.
I am from the roar of the ocean,
The big blue of wonder.
I am from the mist,
In the early morning.
And the "caw" of a crow.
I am from the whisper in the wind,
And the cry in the rain.
I am from the fury of a tiger's eye,
The breath from an enraged bull.
I am from the sun,
That shines brighter than stars.
I am from the warmth of my friend's heart.
I am from the moon,
That shines brightly,
But is always alone.
I am from the trees,
Strong and tall.
I am from their powerful branches.
I am from the night,
When the wolves howl.
I am from the owls,
That hoot their sad songs.
I am from the moon,
That shines brigher than stars,But is always alone.
I am from the stars of the American flag,
That shows might and power.
I am from the sky,
That has more than one personality.
I am from the lightning, From Zeus' mighty bolt.
I am from the moon,
That shines brighter than stars,
But is always alone.
