Regret
He uses my weakness
To his advantage
Tricking me with his seductive smile
Gifts of fine white roses
Little auburn teddy bears
Creating vulnerability
So he can strike me at my lowest
His smile twists into a violent tornado
His hateful words like debris
Slapping me with full force
Red faced with embarrassment
Silence overcomes screaming
Leaving me in an cold sweat
Crying
Anxiously waiting
For him to whisper in my ear
Yet hesitant
Because he will reign over
My self-esteem once again
Belittling me
Until there is nothing remains
I collapse onto my empty bed
Worthless
He has left me…again
Dirty and broken
With only inner scars as proof
I sit and wonder
Why do I keep returning to him
