My Light

My Light
I see the light from across the room
It sits right beside the loom.

Day and night it seeps into me
And it keeps me from insanity.

I close my eyes very tight
But still see the light, so bright.

The light leads me everyday
It keeps the horror and dread away.

I got outside and see dark
There is smoke, yet no spark.

As I see thing, my courage is lost
My heart is bit by a strong frost.

I turn away and go back inside
I see my light, I am bright-eyed.

My light, my courage, my burning flame
Keeps me alive through this horror and shame.
