Thoughts Poem
I'd rather be hunting than anything else. The feeling you get when you stalk your prey is one that can't be beat. The idea of being alone in the woods, waiting and watching quietly thrills me. The feelings I get when I hear something crunching the leaves in the distance, but just out of sight, leaves me anxious and curious. When any sound I hear could be that trophy I'm hunting for or anything else in nature. Then I see what I've been hunting for and my heart starts to pump fast and I start to move real slowly to line up my shoot. The solitude of nature relaxes me. Knowing that at some point I will have to go back home, back to reality where the noises I hear are the sounds of everyday life, and I'm no longer chasing animals but, instead chasing hopes and dreams.
