My Father's Chest
Strong yet scarred.
Been through greatest times,
And the worst.
He works his body,
Chest the most.
He works so hard,
And is most concerned that his chest,
Holds his heart.
His strong heart,
But frail.
He is giving and kind,
But sets his boundaries.
He is strong and wears his chest
Proudly.
But I know what's underneath that
Bone and cut tissue.
It's a man being strong,
So that his heart can go on.
