Shadows and Broken Dreams
The night is death, death is alive,
Wishes burn on shooting stars
But never set the sky on fire,
Life is more than a desire,
Fate may comprise of more than a fatal liar
But all I see is the dark lie,
What truth is there in believing in yourself?
What cruel knife takes the blood of innocent hope?
All is silent
Like the gentle whisper of a thousand cries,
All is bright
Like the glowing star of a hundred nights,
Yes all is well
Like the beckoning finger of a troubled life,
Deathly beast take me please,
Lightning terror please strike me down,
Its all in the hope that I can escape,
I’m sick of living a lie,
Looking out to the twilight sky
Telling myself that she loves me,
Yet deep inside I know,
That my heart shall be full of nothing but broken dreams.
